Hey friends!

Last month we posted a poll on Twitter and asked all our members what should we build next.

53% of people voted for a Forum, so… yep, we’ve built a forum 😊

# 1 Our forum is live and kicking! 👋

forum for The Open Mic - Find Translators on The Open Mic (theopenmic.co)

We were always looking for more ways to bring the wonderful people of our community together.

With our new forum you can now easily start new discussions, discuss interesting topics, exchange ideas and make new friends.

Our forum can be found in Menu > Community > Forum. Or you can simply click this link: https://forum.theopenmic.co

The forum is packed with tons of awesome features, so make sure you check out this video that shows you some of its core functionality.

Now you can easily access most popular categories of stories. When on The Open Mic simply go to Menu >Community > Stories and chose your favorite category.

That way you’ll be able to read all the interesting stories published in that particular category.

Other minor improvements include:

  • We fixed the closing button missing on our slide-in notices on mobile;
  • We also moved our slide-in notices to the lower left corner for better experience;
  • We tweaked our CSS a bit, so now when you embed tweets in your stories they’re center-aligned;

What’s next for The Open Mic?

We’re actively developing a client side to make sure clients can easily use The Open Mic to find translators.

It’s a very complex process, since we need to take into account a lot of things (after all, every client is different and we need to make sure we can accommodate them on our platform), but we’re making a lot of progress.

We’ll ping you once the client side is ready and you’ll be able to invite your existing clients to leave you 5-start reviews and receive messages and emails from other potential clients (both translation agencies and direct clients).

If you want to keep track of our progress or want to connect with other people of our community you can also join our private community in Slack.

Thank you so much for reading and sharing! You rock!

High-five from Toronto!
