Let’s Share the Warmth The Open Mic Style

Greater than 3 minutes, my friend!

Yay!

I’ve finally sent those Christmas present today!

I know, it’s probably too late, but hey, better late than never, right?

I’m always late with my presents, but I always have the perfect excuse: I just want the holiday season to last a little bit longer for my loved ones. 🙂

I mean, who doesn’t like receiving presents AFTER the holidays when you’ve returned to your normal life?

And then on one cold, wintery day in February – BAM! It’s Christmas all over again!

It’s nice, right?

That’s why I kind of had an idea while I was wrapping my gifts at a postal office today.

Even though it’s a bit late, there’s still time to send little gifts for all the amazing folks who use and contribute to The Open Mic.

Right now we have 204 amazing members!

And when I say amazing, I really mean that. People here are absolutely fantastic, they’re very supportive, kind and caring.

In those short 1,5 months, I’ve met more colleagues and friends than I’ve ever met in my entire career and I think this what makes The Open Mic really special.

So why not share the warmth on this holiday season?

How about we send each other gifts and little presents to say Thank You for everything we’ve done for each other?

I know that some of you met a lot of great people here like I did and would love to share the Chrismas spirit with them.

But here’s the challenging part:

It’s not easy to find the addresses of other people.

Not so many of us have websites and we don’t really have fields for addresses on Open Mic profiles either.

That’s why I’m writing this post.

How about we share our addresses in the comment section below?

Do you think it’s a good idea?

I saw other groups and communities doing something similar.

I think this would be very helpful to other translators and colleagues who’d like to express their gratitude, but cannot ask for the address directly without ruining the surprise 🙂

Please, share your address below and make sure you share this post with your friends and colleagues, so we could get everyone’s addresses.

By the way, you don’t have to be a member of Open Mic if you want to share your address.

I invite every translator out there to join our little campaign and help us make this holiday season last a little bit longer.

And then, just pick a couple of people you like and send them your gifts or cards.

But don’t tell them! It has to be a surprise! 🙂

You can even take a picture and publish it on your wall once you have all your gifts ready.

And of course, feel free to share the images of gifts you’ve received from other members.

You can read more about our wall functionality in this blog post.

And if you don’t have much time or money for gifts, just send a message to your friends and colleagues.

Thank them for the inspiration, thank them for any help or support.

Let them know that you’re reading their articles.

It doesn’t require much effort, but trust me, people will appreciate that.

You can find other members here.

Let’s share the warmth on The Open Mic!

  1. I’ll start with myself 🙂

    Here’s mine address:
