My biography and experience

Amanda N. Williams has been a professional, full-time French to English translator for over six years. She specializes in international business translation with a focus on the field of accounting/finance, international trade and import/export compliance. She holds a bachelor’s degree in French language and literature from the University of West Georgia with a minor in Spanish. She is also a graduate of Georgia State University’s post-graduate professional certification program in translation.

After graduating from GSU, Amanda launched her own translation company, Mirror Image Translations, LLC, which offers French to English translation services. Prior to becoming a freelance translator, Amanda spent six years working for one of the top 100 largest ocean importers into the United States, first in sales, then managing inventory in the operations department, and lastly as trade compliance manager, where she was responsible for creating, implementing and maintaining the company’s import compliance and internal control program. She holds an import/export compliance management certification from the Professional Association of Import/Export Compliance Managers. In addition to being a member and former Vice-President of the Atlanta Association of Interpreters and Translators (AAIT), Amanda is a voting member of the American Translators Association (ATA). Amanda lives in Marietta with her husband, toddler and cat. She spends her spare time reading and dragging her husband and son all over the French-speaking world for vacation.
