I'm Berit and I translate from English into my native German specialising in sailing/boats, biology and tourism. By training I'm a wildlife biologist. I studied in Germany, England and Northern Ireland and also worked as research assistant in Germany, South Africa and Tanzania. Those and earlier travels inspired me to also dip my wings into the tourism sector, and so I ended up training and working in the fields of sailing and hospitality, too, e.g. in Turkey, Northern Ireland and Canada. After altogether 10 years abroad I bundled up my experience in 2014 and started out as a self-employed translator based back in my native Germany. I never looked back since and am happy to have managed to combine all my interests and passions into one job I love and to enjoy a relatively location independent lifestyle. My clients are agencies and direct clients, and I translate mainly marketing materials, websites, reports and technical documentation.
