My rates

0.08 USD per source word
0.06 USD per source word
From 26 to 35 USD

Every project is different and I'm afraid there is no such thing as a "one-fits-all" translation rate.

There are literally dozens of factors that affect translation rates: the complexity of your source text, file format (hand-written and non-editable electronic documents tend to be much more expensive), how fast you want it back, your budget expectations, etc.

Please, contact me and I'll be happy to give you an exact quote.

My biography and experience

I am a professional translator called Joshua Marteau. I currently live in Arras, France.

In 2019, I obtained my master’s degree in multidisciplinary translation from the University of Mons, Belgium. Recently, I worked as an in-house translator for the French branch of a British company, Howdens Cuisines. In January 2022, I created my own translation business: Opti'mots Traduction.

I also translated various documents as a volunteer translators for NGOs, private individuals and for Translators Without Borders.

I mainly translate from English and Spanish into my mother tongue, which is French. To do so, I usually use SDL Trados Studio 2021. However, I actually use other CAT tools such as MemoQ and Deja Vu.

As a passionate translator, I had the opportunity to translate a variety of documents, from legal to economic by way of tourism or even recipes. I particularly like documents related to ecology and environment, video games, board games, art and history, culture and tourism. Nonetheless, I do not limit myself to these areas and remain open to new challenges and any type of project.

If you are looking to expand your translator team, I think I might be the adequate person you are looking for.
