Because I have little experience in translation, I am willing to offer low rates. My rates are negotiable. Also willing to do transcriptions of English for about .50 USD per minute of audio.

My biography and experience
I am an aspiring literary translator. I have taken a semester long course on Translation Techniques in which the class collaboratively translated a novel, which is currently in the process of publication. I practice translation on my own at times as a practice but overall have little translation experience, which is why I am here. I have studied French 3 years in high school and 4 years in college and I seek to maintain (and improve) my French since graduating last year.
I grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and have lived in Florence, Kentucky (a suburb of Cincinnati, Ohio), and Cleveland, Ohio, and am currently living in Richmond, Virginia. I have spent a total of about a year abroad. Four months studying in Nice, France, in the immersion program through Sweet Briar College, in Fall of 2014. Then I spent October 2016 to April 2017 living in a small town called Sarlat-la-Canéda in France as an English teaching assistant. I hope to return to France in the next year or two.
I write poetry and I hope to translate poems and novels once I am an established translator.
Je veux être traductrice. A l'université j'ai suivi un cours de traduction dans lequel la classe a fait une traduction du roman ensemble. Il est en train d'être publié. Parfois je pratique la traduction pour m'amuser, mais enfin j'ai peu d'expérience. C'est pour ça que je m'enregistre sur ce site. J'ai étudié le français 3 ans au lycée et 4 ans à l'université. Je cherche à maintenir (et améliorer) mon français depuis que j'ai fini mes études, l'année dernière.

Puis d'octobre 2016 jusqu'en avril 2017 j'ai vécu dans une petite ville qui s''appelle Sarlat-la-Canéda, France, où j'étais assistante d'anglais. J'espère retourner en France dans les années suivantes.
J'écris la poésie et j'aimerais traduire les poèmes et les romans dans l'avenir.
