My rates

0.12 USD per source word
0.09 USD per source word
From 36 to 45 USD

Every project is different and I'm afraid there is no such thing as a "one-fits-all" translation rate. There are literally dozens of factors that affect translation rates: the complexity of your source text, file format (hand-written and non-editable electronic documents tend to be much more expensive), how fast you want it back, your budget expectations, etc. Please, contact me and I'll be happy to give you an exact quote.

The rates for subtitling are also different, since they are calculated per minute of source video. I charge 6 USD per minute of video to do the timing and translation of a video, and 5 USD per minute of video to do a translation from a template. Depending on the characteristics of the project, these rates can be negotiable.

My biography and experience

I grew up in the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland and then moved to the French-speaking region, where I graduated with a BA in Multilingual Communication (Translation) from the University of Geneva. Following my degree, I spent almost a year in Spain,  learning Spanish and volunteering in different places. Then, given my passion for translation, movies and documentaries, I chose to specialise in audiovisual translation, and successfully completed an MSc in Specialised Translation (Audiovisual) at University College London. Since then, I've been living in the UK and working with different companies on various projects, which include the subtitling and translation of tv series, movies, documentaries and reality shows. In general, I'm always looking forward to collaborating with new people and help subtitling and translating a diverse range of videos.
