My rates

0.02 USD per source word
From 36 to 45 USD

Every project is different and I'm afraid there is no such thing as a "one-fits-all" translation rate. There are literally dozens of factors that affect translation rates: the complexity of your source text, file format (hand-written and non-editable electronic documents tend to be much more expensive), how fast you want it back, your budget expectations, etc. Also, there is a big difference between proofreading, editing and bilingual revision, and the rates are also quite different! Please, contact me and I'll be happy to give you an exact quote.

My biography and experience

I am one of those people who has a natural love of and ability in languages and words, but also in logical and technical things. I am an analyst, my brain loves to Analyse Stuff. So having started by learning languages, I ended up in software for 20 odd years. I started as a junior support operative and became a senior manager, senior functional analyst, specialist in requirements analysis (because I'm a people-person, too), RUP and agile development methods, and a programme manager, in a multilingual software environment. It was almost perfect!. But eventually languages have lured me back, and I'm loving it. Naturally, I specialise in IT-related subjects, but also have considerable general technical knowledge and excellent research skills. I have worked on a wide range of technical and science-related projects, covering areas as diverse as soil-mechanics, electrical rewiring, parking meter design and hydrology. I do quite a lot of contracts and technical calls to tender, and have also worked on various projects related to environmental-issues, an area that interests me particularly. I am also very keen to work on anything to do with classical music or cats, two other areas in which I have considerable knowledge!
