My rates

0.10 USD per source word
From 15 to 25 USD

Every project is different and I'm afraid there is no such thing as a "one-size--fits-all" translation rate. There are literally dozens of factors that affect translation rates: the complexity of your source text, file format (hand-written and non-editable electronic documents tend to be much more expensive), how fast you want it back, your budget expectations, etc. Please, contact me and I'll be happy to give you an exact quote.

My biography and experience

I have enjoyed a wealth of experiences from being a Gentleman Cadet at the BMA, a NGO professional for 35 years plus, an assistant editor of an English newsmagazine, a translator, a social development consultant, a microfinance and financial inclusion expert, a researcher, a writer, and back to translation again. Through it all I have been a translator of literary and journalistic pieces. Presently, I work with anthropological researchers and translate interviews from Bengali to English. I also translate medical cases. By the way, I have a post-graduate degree in English Language & Literature, and love people and cultures. Though I love to translate, I don't like software overpowers humans. I only do translate humanly, and neither use any CAT tools nor intends to do that in the future. I also don't like to proofread/edit other people's work done humanly or by a software.
