My rates
Every project is different and I'm afraid there is no such thing as a "one-fits-all" translation rate. There are literally dozens of factors that affect translation rates: the complexity of your source text, file format (hand-written and non-editable electronic documents tend to be much more expensive), how fast you want it back, your budget expectations, etc. Please, contact me and I'll be happy to give you an exact quote.

My biography and experience
Prior to embarking on a career in translation, I was employed in the public sector, specifically in the public health service in Malaysia for eight years, from 2002-2009. My work in the public health sector involved researching, drafting reports, translation and proofreading of health education materials. Apart from that, I was also required to vet marketing materials of infant food products from the baby food industry to check for compliance to government code of ethics and regulations. My earlier career was as a medical laboratory technologist from 1991-1997. The last two years of my medical lab training was spent in a cardiology department. I had my first experience as a freelance translator when I worked on a series of subtitle translations for a film distribution agency. Then, I came across the websites Translationdirectory.com, TranslatorsCafe.com and ProZ.com and applied for jobs posted on the job boards. To date, I have worked on more than 500 translation and checking and editing projects in a span of 10 years for a number of translation agencies but I am most indebted to Lingo24 for the training and continuous trust I have received from them. I am most familiar with the CAT tool XTM but have also done several projects on Wordbee. I like working on media-related projects as well as website translations.
