My name is Vanessa Walsh and I currently live in Freising, Bavaria, Germany. I grew up in southern Ontario, Canada, and spoke both English and French in school.
I attended Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario and recently graduated with an Honours Arts Bachelor in 'French Studies,' 'International Studies,' and competency certificates in German and Spanish. In short, "Foreign Languages." I've also taken advantage of opportunities throughout my education to immerse myself within the languages I wished to learn, living in cities such as Brussels, Belgium, Lyon, France, and now, Freising, Germany.
I have also been heavily involved in politics during the past four years of my life, in both work and volunteer capacities, building my skills in communication, writing, and editing - for varying demographics. One of the principal focuses of Canadian politics is English and French bilingualism, and many past projects of mine included translating documents from English to French and vice versa.
Having worked hard over the past twelve years to improve my French, I currently work as a Foreign Language Correspondent/Business English and French Teacher in a private school here in Bavaria, furthering my skills in German and Business English/French grammar. I hope to pursue a Masters Degree in Applied Linguistics and Translation in Winterthur, Switzerland in the coming year. I specialize in creative writing and literature, so if you're looking to have your literary work professionally translated, whether it be a novel, website, historical manual, or anything similar, I'd be more than happy to help you out!
All of that said, I am no stranger to hard work and setting my mind to a task with the intent of accomplishing it to the best of my ability and more. Working with languages is a passion of mine and I'm looking forward to building my translation experience here - helping out wherever I can!
