Every project is different and I'm afraid there is no such thing as a "one-fits-all" translation rate. There are literally dozens of factors that affect translation rates: the complexity of your source text, file format (hand-written and non-editable electronic documents tend to be much more expensive), how fast you want it back, your budget expectations, etc. Please, contact me and I'll be happy to give you an exact quote.

My biography and experience

About me: I describe myself as a persevering person. Even though my life has been full of struggles, for I am a person with sight disabilities (I want to be honest), I have always tried hard to demolish all barriers. There is no unmanageable wall enclosing me right now, yet sometimes they have been suffocating. Nothing that a positive attitude can’t solve… well, and the proper adaptations. I love languages, literature, translation and sharing with people. And if it is in a person-to-person interaction, it gets better. I am not discouraging digital interaction, but in this respect I prefer to be traditional. I love soccer, goalball and swimming. My top fav teams are Real Madrid, Arsenal and, obviously, my loving “purple monster, Deportivo Saprissa, the best Costa Rican soccer team. Music, reading and cooking are my favorite activities, yet nothing compares to a charming walk in the mountain or beach. About my work experience: As an undergraduate, I had the great opportunity to work as a translator for both my university and the General-Directorate for Migration and Aliens of Costa Rica. First of all, I was chosen by the university’s students’ affair subdivision to undertake a drama translation project. This was a script, which I had to adapt and translate to Costa Rican Spanish dialect. This has been, so far, the most wonderful translation I have ever done. The name of the play is “Cock”, by Mike Bartlett. And secondly, as part of my degree’s university communitarian service, I worked at the Migration Office as a translator and researcher. I was asked to prepare Country of Origin Investigations to aid in the decision-making process for intercontinental refugees. Such reports were based on highly updated information published in English. Finally, I have been working as a freelance translator since late 2012, when a company called Nipro Medical Co. hired my services. Although the work demand has not been heavy, I have learnt much about medical equipment and medicine in general. I have worked with clinical studies, manuals, letters, certificates, flyers, catalogs, among other documents. My Spanish writing is neat, coherent, cautious, detailed and beautiful… yes, beautiful, when it comes to poetry, narrative and drama. I am willing to learn and create, hopefully, excellent content in this highly promising and wonderfull and why not particular social network. Let’s shape the future of the translation profession!
