My biography and experience
My name is Mariana Serio and I am a translator/localizer based in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
My freelance experience includes working for multiple direct clients and translation agencies who describe me as a detail-oriented and responsible professional who is always successful at meeting deadlines.
My working history began while I was still a university student and I started working as a volunteer translator. Shortly after I obtained my degree, I was hired to work full-time as an in-house translator and proofreader for an American engineering company, CSA Central, Inc. By working at the Argentinean office of such firm (also known as Consultech Transportation), I was able to receive direct feedback from both engineers and marketing coordinators, thus obtaining experience in both fields.
My education also allowed me to work in the legal field, translating countless civil registry and education documents, contracts, powers of attorney, administrative minutes and constitutive acts, laws and regulations, tender documents (RFQ, addenda, etc.), legal correspondence, etc.
Technology is also my passion. For this reason, I recently started taking courses on programming which allowed me to develop and design a couple of websites. In addition, I am studying to obtain a Master’s Degree in Translation and New Technologies (2015-2017) having a 92/100 GPA so far.
