My biography and experience
I was born and grew up in the USA. I got a BS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science with Honors from Princeton University in 1980. I also learned Hebrew there from Israeli teachers.
I moved to Israel in 1980 and earned a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology in 1985. At Technion, I learned in Hebrew and wrote my thesis in Hebrew as well.
Since then, I have stayed in Israel, working first at Motorola and then at Intel, till 2015. Being a native English speaker with a respect for using the language properly and interested in clear, unambiguous writing, I often served as the address for my Israeli colleagues for reviewing, editing, and proofreading their attempts to write papers and even books in English.
I left Intel in 2015, and turned to translation and technical writing as a new line of work. I currently work most of the year in a half-time job translating government high school final exams from Hebrew to English for new immigrants, mostly in math and science. In addition, I work for a translation services company in England, translating personal documents from Hebrew to English.
That still leaves me time to work on other projects.
