My biography and experience

I am new in the translation field. However, I developed an interest in the English language at an early age. I am now fluent in it and in my Arabic too. I started working in translation last year hence, my experience amounts to only one year or less. My main dependence was on the online courses and books. Sometimes, I learn by seeing translated samples in movies and similar things. That was because translation is not my field of study in college. I'd like to mention the projects I participated in. I participated in 5 projects for translating Arabic dialogues into English. The longest one was around 54 minutes. It took a lot of effort to finish as the deadline was only 2 days from receiving the file. I had a transcript of the Arabic speech but I needed to listen for the audio file sometimes as the transcript was not punctuated at all. Of the 5 projects, only 2 were accompanied by the Arabic transcripts. I had to translate the rest by listening to the audio files. I also participated in 2 medical translation projects from English into Arabic. I translated a part of a medical report in the first one and a complete medical report, which was only one page, in the second. Recently, I volunteered to subtitle for TED too hoping to gain more experience.
