My rates

0.10 USD per source word
0.07 USD per source word
From 26 to 35 USD

Every project is different and I'm afraid there is no such thing as a "one-fits-all" translation rate. There are literally dozens of factors that affect translation rates: the complexity of your source text, file format (hand-written and non-editable electronic documents tend to be much more expensive), how fast you want it back, your budget expectations, etc. Please, contact me and I'll be happy to give you an exact quote.

My biography and experience

I have always loved languages. As a kid I read a lot (I still do) and was fascinated by how words can take you to places you would never even have imagined. At school I struggled through maths and physics but learned foreign languages with wild abandon. It's a passion I've always kept. I went on to study for a Bachelor of Arts in Language and Culture and then completed a research Master of Philosophy degree, both in the UK, my second home. After university I took on a few different jobs until I realised that what I really wanted to do was work with languages again and be my own boss. I love being freelance and can't imagine doing anything else.

In the past eleven years I have gained a lot of experience in various fields with a primary focus on travel and food writing as well as lifestyle and leisure in general. My aim is to get the reader excited by my texts, to inspire their curiosity and thus enable companies, authors and brands to extend their reach into the substantial German-speaking market. My work gives me huge joy, and that passion for language shines through in my translations. They read like originals and are engaging and well-worded while remaining true to the author's tone and intentions. I also have experience and a great personal interest in the following areas: biography, history, arts & culture, nature & environment, nutrition, spirituality and marketing (particularly ethical cosmetics).
