Find me on Proz

Is this someone you've been looking for?

If you are seeking a nationally certified, American Sign Language interpreter, then you are looking for me.  I love what I do.  I enjoy working with all types of people in all kinds of situations.  I work well in large table discussions, business meetings, legal settings to include counsel and depositions, and any situation that may be tense.  My personality is friendly, but I can remain calm no matter what happens.  Chalk that up to a military background.  You can trust me and I want you to trust me with your interpretation request.

My rates

From 66 to 75 USD

Every interpreting assignment is different because every deaf client is different and every setting I walk into is different.  "One-fits-all" is for machines and I promise you, I'm the real thing.  I charge a 2 hour minimum for all sign language interpreting work that is on-site.  I am willing to charge a single hour for video remote interpreting work.  I bill weekly and net terms are 30 days.  I charge for all cancellations that do not provide a 24 hour notice. That about covers my terms. Let's work together.

My biography and experience

I'm a sign language interpreter but I'm also the mother of three adult children and the wife of 30 years to a retired US service member.  I've lived across the United States, on both coasts.  My life experience is ridiculously grand.  My work experience is vast.  In my 11 years as an interpreter I've worked in literally every single type of situation imaginable.  Currently I prefer to work in legal settings.  I enjoy the interactions between an attorney and his/her client.  I enjoy working in a court room regardless of whether it is civil or criminal law.  Depositions are a favorite because the nature of the work demands excellence in every sentence whether signed or spoken.  I stand behind the work that I do.
