Less than 1 minute, my friend!
I am motivated by money. That doesn’t mean that it’s my only motivation. But for me personally it’s ok to work either for my full rate, or for free.
I don’t see anything wrong with working for free (except for the fact that this kind of work won’t help me pay the bills, so it can’t take up all of my time, no matter how exciting or satisfying it is).
Working for low rates reminds me of an old saying that used to be popular in the USSR: ‘You pretend that you pay us, and we pretend that we work’.
